Classroom Gallery
Our classrooms are designed to evoke the beauty and wonder of nature. Our yurt classroom space provides a cozy, comfortable, and magical retreat while our outdoor classrooms immerse children in the bucolic natural environment of Maine.
Yurt Classrooms
Our indoor classrooms are spacious, airy, and magical. They're also sturdy, well-insulated, and equipped with all the amenities of a modern state-of-the-art classroom.
Yurt Classrooms
Indoor Studio Space
Students are encouraged to freely explore the many languages of art. We offer children open access to our supply of crafting and making materials.
Indoor Imaginative Play Space
Children are provided a rotating supply of play tools. This area is designed to scaffold play which allows children to construct knowledge of the world around them through play.
Book Nook
Reading is magical. Our book creates a quiet getaway for kiddos while also allowing the flexibility for different play experiences.
Cozy Retreat Space
Students will always have a place to enjoy some quiet alone time.
Outdoor Kitchen
Mud kitchen play allows children to explore many different concepts from mixing to measuring to cooking and cooperation.
Rotating Learning Tables
Children are provided new play laboratories whenever the children's interest moves on from an area or when the learning objectives of a particular provocation have been met.
Multimedia Studio Spaces
Our school is currently equipped with 3 different makerspaces. A chalkboard classroom, a washable acrylic canvas space, and an indoor studio.
Tuff Tray Provocations
Tuff Trays in our outdoor classrooms offer anchor activities for children that allow for deep learning and investigation. Children always have the option to leave an activity and engage with other activities in accordance with our child-directed, emergent curriculum.
Loose Parts
Our classroom spaces offer ample opportunities for loose parts play.
Nature Based Learning
Through direct exposure to the local ecosystem, students learn to identify and co-exist with our fellow lifeforms.
Music Education
Several of our staff members are avid musicians. Students will be regularly provided with a variety of musical instruments. Children will also be exposed to more than 20 musical instruments throughout the course of the year from our educators' collections.
Fairy Magic
Children will understand that learning is fun, that reading is interesting, and each individual is unique, and worthy of love and respect.
